After all, he’s famous for great and unexpected acts;
there’s no end to his surprises.
He gives rain, for instance, across the wide earth,
sends water to irrigate the fields. Job 5:9-10
After all, He is famous for great and unexpected acts; for instance rain? This passage has such a challenging effect if we really pay attention to it, how many things in life we already have for granted, for instance, breathing? Eating? Walking? Talking? All the activities that we realize every single day as our routine, we have the tendency to have it for granted, but when I read this passage, I see that God is famous for doing great and unexpected acts, come to my mind for instance, God opening the red sea, God helping Joshua to bring down the walls of Jericho, comes to my mind, David, in the name of Jehovah, bringing down a warrior like Goliath, my memory brings me the acts of Moses, Gideon, Daniel, and so may heroes of faith, that reminds me that God is famous, but rain and unexpected act?
In the beginning, the bible states that God hadn’t yet sent rain on Earth, nor was there anyone around to work the ground (the whole Earth was watered by underground springs)
Gen 2; and Hebrews 11-7, By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet; in other words, Noah received a word about something that for us now is like normal thing to happen. But in Noah’s time he was warned of something unexpected to come, an unexpected act, rain. This time, the first rain that came to earth was an act of judgment, the heart of the people was always looking for their own satisfaction, and they were living with continuous evil mind, and the heart of God was wounded by these unexpected acts from those created to do well, and be good.
Now that it rains, let’s remember that the men’s rebellion brought judgment over the earth, God made a promise, that He will never again, use water to do a judgment, but this time will be with fire according to 2 Peter 3:7 New King James Version (NKJV)7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the Day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men, so while we enjoy this time the rain as a blessing, keep in mind, that some unexpected acts are ahead of us, and live pleasing God, so He will reward us. God Bless you.
